Fresh garlic knots served with marinara sauce

How we make it

How We Make Our Garlic Knots

Garlic knots are a New York pizzeria staple: pizza dough tied into knots, baked, then tossed while hot in garlic butter or garlic oil with parsley and grated cheese. Ours are hand rolled, and our pizza dough is made in New York and brought to Florida; the pizza is made in Fort Lauderdale at our Cordova Road kitchen.

Want to make them at home? Use one dough ball (we sell them at the restaurant: 10 oz $3, 16 oz $4, 20 oz $5) and the recipe below.

Make it at home

Pizzeria-Style Garlic Knots

Makes 12 knots. A home version of the style, not our shop recipe.

Fresh garlic knots served with marinara sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 ball pizza dough (about 16 oz), at room temperature
  • 4 tablespoons butter or olive oil (or half of each)
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine salt
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 tablespoons grated parmesan
  • Marinara sauce, for dipping

Steps

  1. Heat the oven to 450 degrees F and line a sheet pan with parchment.
  2. Cut the dough into 12 equal pieces and roll each into a rope about 7 inches long.
  3. Tie each rope into a simple knot and tuck the ends under. Space the knots on the pan and let them rest 15 minutes.
  4. Bake 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
  5. While they bake, warm the butter or oil with the garlic and salt over low heat for 2 to 3 minutes without letting the garlic brown.
  6. Toss the hot knots in the garlic butter, then sprinkle with the parsley and parmesan. Serve warm with marinara.
